Out of all the CMS’s available, by far the most popular is WordPress.  WordPress started out a few years ago as a system to create blogs.  Over the past few years, however, it has grown into a system that a capable web designer can transform into just about any type of site.  WordPress sites can be a little tricky to get set up initially as they rely heavily on PHP (a web programing language) and databases (not just straight HTML and CSS).  But once set up, with a little training and practice, the owner can normally add content and do routine maintanence without a web designer’s help.
